Frequently Asked QuestionsSimply Teaching The Bible Simply
We know that choosing a church can be a difficult thing. No one likes to be “surprised” by information that seems to have been withheld.
Here you have the opportunity to read the most popular inquiries we receive and can even post your own.
These are some of the most common questions that often come up about our church. If you need more information on these or any other subject, please contact us using the form at the bottom of this page.
The simple answer is, whatever you want. The only thing the bible says about clothes is that they should be modest and decent. That’s good enough for us. What most of the people here wear is casual. Mostly jeans and t-shirts. We are not opposed to dressing up, we just don’t do it much.
We have child care for anyone under school age. There are children’s classes for 1st through 5th grade. After 5th grade, we have a Middle School class for 6th through 8th.
Calvary Chapel is not an official denomination. However, there are well over 1000 churches worldwide affiliated with Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa, California. We are one of them. The story of how the Calvary Chapel movement came about is a fascinating one that began with the so called “Jesus Movement” of the early 1970’s. The basic tenants of Calvary Chapel seem to us to be an honest, logical interpretation of the scriptures in context. For more specific information on what we believe, look around this web site. If you need more, call or e-mail us.
Our music would be classified as “contemporary”. Our worship team is, for the most part, a rock band. We don’t think this is “better” than other types of church music, it’s just what we do best.
We believe we are called to “Equip the saints for the work of ministry” as Paul puts it in the letter to the Ephesians. We like to think of our church as a school for ministry. Ministry doesn’t have to be something formal or professional. Everyone has a purpose and special gifts and talents to achieve their goal. Our “job” is to help people reach their full potential in Christ… to be the best part of the Body of Christ they can be.
